laziness (or is it corruption?) is making an insidious attempt to disrupt my way of living. haha. putting numbers into perspective, it has been 5 weeks since i came back from vietnam. yes, i have enjoyed 5 weeks of insanely fun holidays. i have been up to several mischievous activities; running at wee hours, bringing a company to court (small claims tribunal) because of unsatisfactory services, getting myself half-drunk, watching my friends get drunk, laughing at wasted strangers, singing absurdly out-of-tune songs, experiencing how clubbing feels like, etc. haha. i do hope the impression my readers have on me do not change. i am still a guai kia at heart. HAHAHA.
anyway, i received my enlistment notice last friday. when i opened the letterbox and saw the orange slip of document, i was in a state of delight. after all the promising letters that i have received, here was the final one! tearing the corners of the tightly-sealed letter, i was quietly confident that i will be going in in july, just unsure of the exact date. when i saw what was enclosed, momentarily, my world crumpled.

BMTC SCHOOL 2
the first thing i realised after this nightmare of an event subsided was that i had 5 months to spare. my previous excuse of "i just want to train my physical fitness during this period before enlistment" held little conviction. 2 months to train seems valid, but 5 months?! i had better start making myself useful la. to date, i have attended an internship interview with Prudential and will be going for another interview with SPH next monday.
another event that will be coming up soon will be the sundown marathon, a 42km run through the night with other mad people. i may love running (i even bought a waterbag recently. haha), but the thought of 42km makes me shudder. i kid you not. during trainings, the furthest i have covered is only 15km lei. 42km? omg.
