1st nov, sat- it was book out time for the nsf. i met up with the people who had survived yet another week in camp. their stories range from extremely frightful to one of huh-like-that-also-considered-tough-ah treatment. after dinner at the usual 163, i was persuaded to join them in the hull city versus man united match. it was typical david versus goliath stuff, except the latter won. one thing led to another and soon i was swirling about in a suzuki swift, praying that all goes well as my buddy negotiated the sharp bends at kent ridge. two cars followed closely bethind. to them, this was the notorious 99 bends. damn. they even kept records of the time taken to complete the "circuit".
the one-thing-led-to-another logic prevailed once more and the next moment, i was sitting in a prata shop at 3 am ordering prata with 8 other childhood friends while indians wearing ndu-style shirts took our orders. after supper, i hopped on the wrong car and one thing led to another... again. this time, we were on our way to geylang. guys being guys, we were curious about the notorious red-light district. 6 of us now, 2 cars, strength in numbers (hahaha), we headed to the area. and no, we did not interact with the prostitutes. we just stared from afar. from a distance, it was apparent that different nationalities occupied different lanes. hmm. my view on this issue. reiterating a point made by one of my former lecturer, i, too, feel that prostitutes are necessary. men who are sex-deprived can turn to such avenues to curb their urge instead of say... resorting to rape.
their curiosities were not curbed after geylang. they wanted to explore the newly-opened marina barrage. unfortunately, we could not find the way in. it was 5.30 am when i finally reached home. what i have just done was something that i felt was ok only if you do it once a while. do it every other day, i assure you, your body clock will go berserk.
